Raw Ventures Invites MediaTech Startups for Annual Global Pitch Day!

General news
May 1, 2024

Raw Ventures is now accepting applications for its Annual MediaTech Investment Program, designed for startups looking to accelerate and disrupt the media technology sector.

This initiative culminates in the Global MediaTech Pitch Day, set to take place on September 26, 2024, at the MediaTech Hub Conference in Germany, where finalists will have the chance to secure up to €1M in investment.

Applications are now open with an early consideration deadline of May 31, 2024, and a final deadline of July 14, 2024.

This year, the program is set to review 400 startups, culminating in the Global MediaTech Pitch Day in Potsdam, where 8 finalists will have the opportunity to present their innovations to top-tier investors and industry leaders.

Raw Ventures, with MediaTech as one of its main investment areas, uses this day to identify and support the most promising startups from around the world. In addition to offering startups the chance to raise up to €1M in investment, the event includes comprehensive pitch training sessions and culminates in a competition where the best pitch is awarded a €10,000 prize, highlighting the day’s commitment to fostering breakthroughs in the media sector.

Victoria Palatnik, managing partner at Raw Ventures, emphasised the firm’s commitment to empowering startups: "At Raw Ventures, we believe in providing the resources necessary for startups to thrive. This year's program not only offers substantial financial backing but also invaluable exposure to mentors, advisors, and industry leaders who can guide participants from prototype to market-ready products."

The initiative comes at a critical time as global startup funding has seen a sharp decline, falling to its lowest level in five years. Raw Ventures aims to invest in 20-30% of the startups that complete the program, echoing their successful pilot program last year, which resulted in significant funding for participants including the UK-based Setmixer, who secured $760K.

We invite startups involved in all aspects of media innovation — from traditional TV and movie industries to modern content-driven sectors like streaming, advertising, podcasts, and music — to apply. The program is designed to support entities that are enhancing production, distribution, and creative processes, or integrating diverse technologies into media processes.

"Media and technology are interwoven into every facet of modern life, and our goal is to foster an ecosystem that supports and propels media innovation to new heights," added Palatnik.

As MediaTech continues to evolve, Raw Ventures is positioned to play a pivotal role in shaping its future, providing a platform for startups to showcase their ideas and secure the investments and partnerships necessary to succeed.
